Lakeland: Got Candy & More

Sunset with palm tree in foreground in Lakeland, FloridaMy wife and I enjoyed a stroll in downtown Lakeland recently; it was just before Christmas, a festive time with lights and other decorations all around.  There was a Got Candy and More exterior in Lakeland, Floridabeautiful sunset that night (see above).  We had eaten dinner earlier (at Sumo Sushi, to be exact) and felt like some dessert.  So we visited a place I have wanted to go for some time – Got Candy & More.

Got Candy has been in downtown Lakeland since 2011.  They are a retail location for ice cream, cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and candy.  They also have a custom cake service, and some of their samples on display were very impressive.  And they have a food truck.  The exterior was brightly colored at night, and the interior was bright and spotless.

Dulce de leche cake from Got Candy and More in Lakeland, FloridaWe sampled the dulce de leche cake first.  We both enjoyed it, thought my wife felt it was a little too sweet for her taste.  Then we tried the almond cake and it was just right for both of us.  Very tasty; actual sliced almonds in the middle gave it a slight crunch.  Both cakes were rich, moist, and filling.

Our total was just over $10.  We felt that was a very good price for the amount of cake goodness we received.  So when your sweet tooth is acting up, we recommend Got Candy & More.  They are located on South Kentucky Avenue, between East Main Street and East Lemon Street.  Enjoy!
