My wife and I had an unplanned lunch out recently – it was a time when we wanted comfort food in a reliable setting. So we revisited Reececliff Family Diner in Lakeland. It’s a convenient location. We always enjoy the decor and the diverse menu. We were in the mood for comfort food, and at Reececliff breakfast is served all day – you can’t get much more comforting than that.
We were there during late morning on a weekday so the restaurant wasn’t crowded. Our server was especially pleasant, which is saying something considering the good service we typically receive at Reececliff. We both choose breakfast specials. I ordered the waffle special – a large waffle, 2 bacon slices, 2 sausage patties, and 2 eggs (scrambled for me). My wife went for the French toast special – the same as my order except with French toast instead of the waffle. One tomato juice and one orange juice to drink.
When it takes 2 people to bring your breakfast to the table, you’ve probably come to the right place. A generous amount of food, and it was all delicious and well prepared. The bacon was crispy but not overdone. The eggs were well-cooked, a nice touch since neither of us cares for runny eggs. The sausage patties were mildly spicy and not too greasy. Both meals came with good-sized portions of syrup and butter.
Leftovers are always a plus, and we had food to take home with us this time. Once again, we were very happy with Reececliff. With all of that food and juice to drink, our total with tip was only about $31. This is one of our go-to restaurants in Polk County. We’re always confident it will be a good experience. If you haven’t been, we hope you will consider Reececliff Family Diner the next time you go out to eat.
