I had been aware of Giovanni’s NY Pizza for a while, but hadn’t had the opportunity to go there. My wife and I corrected that on a recent Saturday, and we are glad we did. Giovanni’s actually has 3 locations, but we visited the one on Cypress Gardens Boulevard in Winter Haven. It’s tucked away in the River Lake Centre on the eastern side of Winter Haven.
Giovanni’s has a quality I love – simplicity. The decor is basic and comfortable. Service is equally basic and efficient – place your order at the register and your food is brought out when it’s ready. That leads to good prices for food that is tastier than you get from the typical pizza chains.
We ordered a medium buffalo pizza (with fountain drinks) off the specialty pizza menu – they also offer cheese pizza with customized toppings and a variety of other options like strombolis, calzones, and pasta entrees. Our pizza was delicious, the buffalo sauce had a lot of flavor without being too spicy. The chicken was tender and not overcooked. With tip our total came to about $22. We were very happy and will definitely return.
Giovanni’s is on the outskirts of southeast Winter Haven on Cypress Gardens Boulevard. I was so overcome with pizza deliciousness I forgot to photograph the outside of the restaurant. But if you’re looking for a tasty pizza at a reasonable price, we recommend Giovanni’s.
